At first glance you re drawn to the crisp, bright, white and gold dress she is wearing. As you go to study whose face graces the beautiful gown, you see the large blue bruise around her eye and her all too obvious busted lip. On further inspection, you see the rest of the bruises that litter her legs like a Dalmatian. The ad prominently states Why is it so hard to see black and blue?. Of course you see her amazing dress, but the violence is usually something that is never seen. She looks out to the viewer in this blank stare, as if she s begging us to help her. The background is desolate gray and bare. It is probably how she feels as a victim, muted with no voice. No savior to support/help her in her time of need. Although as a whole, society has advanced through technology with new sleek, shiny cars that hit 100 mph in three seconds. We’ve also advanced in medicine with new materials to use to ensure the success of treatment, yet there’s one problem we have yet to addr ess with improvement. Why is it that our stance on the wellbeing of women seem to be slacking? There are many issues that have been made apparent throughout 2000’s. Global warming, cyber bullying, school shootings and most recently, racial riots. Yet there is something that has never been reduced.
